I'm a member of the Bellingham Photography Club. I am interested in applying painterly effects to photographic images.

I have been a member here for three years, contributing artistic images of landscapes, people, and various quirky things.

@ imaPNWpixelGal. I’ve been pursuing my passion for photography since completing my certificate in photography at North Georgia College and State University in 2011. By combining it with a love of travel, my work has covered every genre from Street Photography to Nature and Macro Photography. This passion has been shared through teaching for multiple institutions, camera clubs, regional photography conferences and through my published articles. To give back to the community, I served as VP of Publications and Managing Editor for the Photographic Society of America*Worldwide and as Assistant Editor for the quarterly magazine of the Northwest Nature and Wildlife Association. I'm a retired telecommunications engineer and have lived in Lynden since 2024. I'm a pilot, photographer, videographer, cyclist, museum docent, and amateur barista. I love nature and traveling around the world.

I have used a camera for decades, but only in the last 10 years have I begun to learn how my camera can help me see more closely all the beauty around me.

A wannabe photographer throughout the years, I have snapped photos whenever I had a camera in hand — some years often, other years not. Over 20 years ago, a koi entered my viewfinder so clear and sharp -- my photo of it, and 20,000-plus since make up my current inventory. It, plus 100 or so, have seen the light of day on greeting cards, mugs, and prints, and have sold in shows, online selling sites, local stores, and the Whatcom Art Market. My themes vary from landscapes to flora (especially flowers) to man-made structures to animals. Currently I am using deliberate distortion in my processing.

I've had a camera in my hand for at least 50 years. Every thing, every person, every moment I've photographed has become a part of who I am. I think of my images as little prayer flags, little voices in the wind saying "Look at this! Look at this! This is important, this has meaning!" I especially love to find that meaning in small, everyday things and moments.

Photography is my happy place. All else fades into the distance when I'm out taking photographs.
